Darling Downs Health along with Queensland Country Practice and Toowoomba Hospital Foundation have officially opened the Millmerran Primary Clinic, which will welcome patients from 17 October.

The new GP clinic will provide primary health care to Millmerran and its surrounding communities.

Darling Downs Health Chief Executive Annette Scott PSM said the new fit-for-purpose clinic was welcomed by community members.

“In 2020, this GP clinic closed leaving the community without access to primary health care,” Ms Scott said.

“At that time, the health service stepped in and established a clinic for locals at our existing health care facility in Millmerran.

“Now, we are excited to reopen the doors of this recently refurbished clinic in the centre of town.”

The building was purchased by Toowoomba Hospital Foundation last year.

“The Foundation is so grateful for the support the community of Millmerran has shown us and we know how much it means to residents be able to re-open a primary health clinic in town,” Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said.

“We are glad to be able to continue to support the community of Millmerran through our arrangement with Darling Downs Health.”

Ms Kennedy said the Foundation had completed renovations to the building to create a modern and welcoming environment.

The Millmerran Primary Clinic is located at 45 Campbell St, Millmerran, and is taking new patients from Monday, 17 October.

It will be open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
