Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Governor of Queensland toured several hospitals and health services located within Darling Downs Health last week.

As part of the tour, the Governor visited the Inglewood, Texas, Stanthorpe, and Warwick facilities and met with staff and residents.

Darling Downs Health Board Chair Mr Mike Horan AM was pleased to meet with Her Excellency and showcase our regional health facilities.

“Dr Young is a familiar face to many. She was Queensland’s Chief Health Officer for 16 years and helped guide our state from the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic in January 2020, right through until she stepped down from the position in October 2021,” Mr Horan said.

“It was our absolute pleasure and honour to host Dr Young, in her new role as Governor of Queensland, during her time with us in the Southern Downs.”
